Sex Trade Engagement Project (S.T.E.P.)

STEP is an outreach and drop-in group for women identified folks working in the sex trade.

This group is for women identified folks who work in the sex trade, either currently or formerly, in all areas of the sex trade (street-based sex work, escorts, phone sex operators, exotic dancers, pornography actors, webcam workers, erotic masseuses, etc.). The goal is to provide a space that is safe and non-judgmental where women can come to share information, receive advocacy, referrals and one to one support as needed. We also provide condoms, hygiene products, clothing as well as other harm reduction/safer sex supplies.

*TAWC recognizes that sex work is not the same as human trafficking. Sex work involves selling some form of sexual service. Trafficking is coerced or forced labor.  In saying that, we support choice and believe that women have a right to self-determination.  Our goal is to make sex work as safe and as positive as possible for women involved in the sex trade industry.
